I purchased and repurchased these boxes 4times.I am the inheritor or all the family photos plus all of my own 6 member household. (Four kids).This creates a lot of volume.After downsizing and moving into a condo space is precious.Sure I’ve loaded them onto my computer and created disks for everyone but offing have the heart to dispose of them.I collected the photos for each person and loaded and gifted them to each person.They can now decide what to do with them.They are nice looking. I purchased the red ones.There is a slot on the face of the boxes to create a label.I have 8 in my own collection and they look great on an open shelf stacked .Needed a box for scrapbook I did for my brother’s 70 th birthday. Use to be available in the local craft/art stores but not any more, it’s been years since I needed a box for a scrapbook gift/storage. Delighted it was available on Amazon so i bought one in purple and one in blue. The boxes are nice and sturdy and fit perfectly, will buy more. You won’t be disappointed.Perfect for storing larger size photos.Sturdy Box construction. I feel confident in using this for storing items I want protected.Great for picturesThese are good boxes to use for storing old family photos that are larger than 8x10 or have mounting boards on back. I have purchased 3 of these.Even if you live in a tiny house or live the minimalist lifestyle -- which I can't-- you still need a couple of *everything* boxes. These boxes are perfect for me because I save old tickets, posters, photos, and art from a couple of music scenes and LA history; I'm also needing to save medical papers that can't be filed yet. Another friend puts receipts in these, a designer friend puts fabric samples in them before organizing them into a sample book.Sometimes digital storage is not the best way.So I've been replacing broken much larger cardboard Ikea filing boxes with these for 2 years now. We have 6 of these in black. They have a useful metal frame for labelling. These look good, maybe even chic, but note they can **not** be stacked if they're just about full of magazines, paper or whatever . They aren't meant for that. They're slick, coated cardboard. Camera stores used to sell these for large-format photo prints in the Long Ago.Remember these are not plastic, not metal, not super heavy duty cardboard. So don't stack more than 2, don't put other stuff on top of them. Use them for half a ream of paper you can't get in the printer tray, 5 or 6 magazines, folded up socks, or an everything box, and all will be bueno.BONUS: We were sent the wrong color, a blue-grey, [I am so ****** sick of grey everything] instead of the black we ordered...but this turned out well; it became an opportunity to demo one of those two or three truly great things about Amazon. The next day, the very next day, a replacement box arrived!I have ordered 9 of these in different colors, and 9 of the photo size boxes that match. Half of them arrived damaged, and two were bad enough to return. They are not sturdy or durable, and not worth the money.Ordered two as this colour was on sale and could get two for the price of one. One arrived in perfect condition and other was damaged. I ordered a few items and everything was packed inside same large box.They are too small to comfortably fit the Pioneer 11 x 14 albums. I can jam them in, but the box bends out and I'm not sure the cover of the photo album can take it.Also, make sure to order in black or a colour you have in a matching felt pen. The box is covered in a thin black veneer with white underneath. The process of putting the plastic protective cover was too traumatic for the ones I ordered, the black veneer cover was split during manufacturing.These boxes were shipped in excellent condition; all individually shrink wrapped. Although the image is computer generated, the actual colour is pretty accurate.The boxes are sturdy, made out of cardboard, no plastic and has a metal nameplate. I use these boxes to store all of my computer cables and accessories.I gave these boxes 4 stars because the image shows that they come with the appropriately sized white card in the metal nameplate. As it turns out, no white labelling card is included.Not a huge issue, I can make my own, but I was hoping for the price of $10 each, I didn't have to.No problems with this order. Ordered this item to store mementos that we have from our kids' school days. A nice sturdy, attractive box that I don't mind having sitting out.A very good size for older larger photos....and other old things fit nicely and don't slide around - plus I used the acid-free tissue to wrap a few things for extra protection....plenty of room.
