I was going to purchase the "as seen on tv" version of these tools, but after investigating a bit I decided on these instead. The tv ones are made from a different wood that is not naturally waterproof and have a veneer on them.Whereas these are made from teak, a naturally waterproof wood. They have a beautiful sheen to them, and the water just flows right off of them. They are natural wood with no added veneer. They are fairly thick and are sturdy enough for stirring thick stews as well as thinner soups. We even use them for stir fry.Work great in mayonnaise jars and any other spreading material.I love these wooden utensils! I’ve replace them for a knife for spreading Mayo, butter frosting on caked etc!! The long one with slots is a favorite for stirring soups of sorts, it’s a great gift for someone who loves wooden objects as well as kitchen items.My husband wanted these, and he uses them all the time.I’m actually pleased with these wooden things. They’re much sturdier than I thought they’d be and a beautiful color of wood. I like these a lot and they look great if you just used them as a decorative piece. Very please, highly recommend.I bought these primarily for cooking vegetables and scrambled eggs in my cast iron skillets, they work great and are easy to clean. I don’t put them in the dishwasher but I guess you could, I prefer to hand wash them.
